Frameless vs. Framed Cabinets

Hart & Sapp offers two types of cabinetry: Framed and Frameless. Framed cabinetry has a front frame for a more traditional look. It is known for durability, installs more easily and is available with classic inset doors, or full overlay doors for a modern look. Frameless cabinetry has a sleek, modern design without a front frame, allowing owners to maximize space and functionality in the kitchen. In this guide, we’ll walk you through more of the key points to help you and your designer pick the perfect type for your home and lifestyle.

Frameless Cabinets

Our Frameless cabinets with full overlay doors offer a sophisticated and modern look. They are ideal for homeowners who prefer a clean design, as the materials used eliminate the need for a face frame, while still being strong. These cabinets highlight the doors and finishes beautifully, while ensuring durability.

  • Style: Modern, contemporary look.
  • Construction: No face frame; doors and drawers attach directly to the cabinet box.
  • Storage: Slightly more interior space.
  • Door Styles: Full Overlay doors only.

Framed Cabinets:

Our Framed cabinets mix classic style with modern options. If you prefer a traditional door inset within the cabinet frame, then this is the right choice. Our inset doors are only available for Custom Framed cabinets in a nearly limitless range of styles.

  • Style: Traditional, classic look.
  • Construction: Features a face frame to which doors and drawers are attached.
  • Storage: Slightly less interior space due to the face frame.
  • Door Styles: Inset & Full Overlay doors.
